Ultimately, Business is all about maintaining good relationships with people who we come across from your clients to shareholders. But it is not simple to build a network; rather it is an art to master.
For a CEO, not a single day should fall by without meeting atleast one new person. Business conferences, training programmes or one-to-one meetings with important people should be a priority in everyday schedule.
It’s not going to be worthwhile by only collecting contacts and piling it up. You should learn from their experience and follow-up with each important person. Not only should you think of the benefits that you will be receiving but also the way in which you can serve them.
Think about long term relationship because every contact may not be immediately beneficial. A person who seems small today may become a giant tomorrow. PR requires the understanding of your people, understanding their minds and also understanding various factors that fulfill each person.
